Furnishing Futures

Furnishing Futures is a social enterprise and charity that transforms donated furniture and products into fully designed interiors for women and children rebuilding their lives after domestic abuse. Working in partnership with refuges and frontline services, they create spaces that support dignity and stability — homes that go beyond functionality to something closer to care.

Operating a warehouse, workshop and distribution service from Mentmore, Furnishing Futures demonstrates how design can be purposeful in the most direct sense. Their work is rigorous, generous and essential.

Pavilion Bakery

Pavilion Bakery produces freshly baked breads, pastries and savoury dishes from their kitchen at Mentmore. Slow-fermented loaves, carefully sourced ingredients, seasonal menus — done with attention and without compromise. Their café on the ground floor is a gathering point for tenants, neighbours and anyone who finds their way to Argall Avenue.

The bakery begins before dawn, filling the building with something warm long before the rest of the studios open. With roots in the local community, Pavilion has become as integral to the site as the building itself.

Portal

Portal is a creative studio working at the intersection of brand identity, graphic design and digital experience. The studio develops visually rigorous work for clients that value clarity, craft and contemporary thinking — combining strategic thinking with refined aesthetic execution.

Based in a dedicated studio within the building, Portal brings a quiet design intelligence to Mentmore. Their work is meticulous and considered — a natural counterpart to the making and production happening across the rest of the site.
